Lanka Premier League 2022 (LPL 2022) Schedule Squad

The LPL 2022 was initially scheduled to run from August 1 to August 21, but just weeks before the first game, the tournament was indefinitely postponed due to the nation’s economic crisis.

The league stage of the six-team tournament will now begin on December 6 and end on December 23, according to the updated schedule. Five teams will compete in the competition for the coveted title in Sri Lanka: Colombo Stars, Dambulla Giants, Galle Gladiators, Jaffna Kings, and Kandy Falcons. The top four teams at the end of the league advance to the playoffs after facing off against each other twice in round-robin fashion.

Twenty league games and four playoff games, including the title game, comprise 24 games. The Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium (MRICS) in Hambantota, the R. Premadasa Stadium (RPICS) in Colombo, and the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (PICS) in Pallekele was to host games during the LPL 2022. The first few league phase games in the five-team tournament are scheduled to be played at MRICS, Hambantota, after which the action will move to PICS, Pallekele, and finally to RPICS, Colombo for the remaining league phase games and the playoff rounds.
